Share with a friend: TODAY'S HEADLINES  |  May 10, 2021 S.C. under emergency declaration after pipeline attack After a ransomware attack on Colonial Pipeline Co. halted all operations at the Georgia-based pipeline, South Carolina and 16 other states were placed under a regional emergency declaration calling for immediate transport of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. State needs 80,000 workers to fill open roles To better understand why employers are struggling to fill roles, the S.C. Chamber of Commerce has created a Workforce Development Survey and is asking employers across the state to respond. McMaster calls for end of federal unemployment benefits Gov. Henry McMaster has directed the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce to end all federal unemployment programs in the state, saying the extra money is deterring people from returning to the workforce. Annual automotive summit takes place this week Automotive and manufacturing from across the Palmetto State will tune into the S.C. Automotive Council's 10th Annual Automotive Summit.
