Share with a friend: TODAY'S HEADLINES  |  May 27, 2021 Private Marietta address used by 'bogus' online retailer An online marketplace with a Marietta address promises customers fire pits and outdoor speakers, but sends them sun visors and coin purses instead, according to the Better Business Bureau of the Upstate, which has linked the brand to other dubious online sellers. United Community Banks to buy Aquesta United Community Banks Inc. and Aquesta Financial Holdings Inc. today announced a definitive agreement for United to acquire Aquesta, including its wholly-owned subsidiary, Aquesta Bank. The transaction value is estimated at approximately $131 million. Village Kitchen opens at Hartness Hartness, a new 444-acre urban village in Greenville's Eastside, is opening the doors to what it calls "an elevated fast casual dining experience" in the Village Center. Inside, bakers will use a stone hearth oven to serve up flatbreads and a farm-to-table menu under the supervision of Executive Chef Tanner Marino. Upstate Weekend The Neighborhood Housing Corp. and Poe Mill Compass Committee will host an community education and family fun day on the junction of B Street and 3rd Avenue on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. A number of local officials and nonprofits will be present to promote community engagement, according to a news release.
