| Facebook is testing Upvoting and Downvoting feature Posted: 11 Apr 2021 03:02 PM PDT  The social media giant has been reported testing out a new feature for Up and Downvoting the comments in Facebook groups. Through this feature, the users will be able to give feedback to any of the comments they want and doing so would bring that particular comment up or down. For example, if a comment contains debatable content or something that can be discussed, it can be upvoted for a discussion (just like Reddit). Similarly, if any comment is abusive and contains inappropriate stuff, the users can take that to the bottom by downvoting. Furthermore, the company is also working on badges to assign to the commentators so that other users can know why their comments are valued. According to the sources, Facebook users will be notified when the feature will be released officially. Facebook also integrated a display alert that shows the users where the company is working on for example, currently Facebook is also working on some additional icons that the author can view when you attach them to the voting of comment. The main purpose of voting for comments and additional icons is to encourage the activities by the users and help the author understand whether their comment or post was helpful or not so that they take care of it and post more in the future.   |
