Electrolux makes donation to AU College of Engineering

With plans to move operations from its second Anderson plant into it's newly upgraded freezer and refrigerator factory, Electrolux hopes to help cultivate the minds it requires to run the highly automated lines by giving $300,000 to the Anderson University College of Engineering.

The S.C. Association of Technical College Commissioners has named the head of an Upstate technical college the 2020 CEO of the year for his work in workforce development and community partnerships.

Startup mentorship program has secured 100 Upstate jobs

Three Spartanburg startups will benefit from a $15,000 peer-based loan fund as part of the Start: Me Spartanburg program launched by the University of South Carolina Upstate's George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business and Economics and the Northside Development Group. Urban Wren has a new manager at the helm

Urban Wren, a full service restaurant concept located in Markley Station, recently promoted Travis Giarratana to the position of general manager. Prior to this promotion, Giarratana served as assistant general manager for the restaurant brand.  In his current role, he will be responsible for overseeing the overall success of the Urban Wren restaurant, as well as the Loft event space, according to a news release.
