Median home prices in S.C. increase 13% over last year

Median home prices in South Carolina increased 13% year-over-year, from $234,000 to $265,000, according to South Carolina Realtors' March 2021 data. Sales were up an average of 22% from last year.

Online event to honor community development organization

April 22 has been declared Benedict-Allen Community Development Corporation Day in the city of Columbia. An online event will honor 10 local leaders for contributions to the nonprofit organization.

More than 30 state agencies and higher education institutions will participate in the online event. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, South Carolina had an annual average of 10,000 unemployed veterans in 2020.

New laureates inducted in S.C. Business Hall of Fame

Three business leaders have been inducted into Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina's S.C. Business Hall of Fame in recognition of leadership and civic achievement. The Columbia-based organization began honoring inductees in 1985.
