Inland Port Greer launches expansion project, grows capacity

On the heels of opening the Hugh Leatherman Terminal, the S.C. Ports Authority today announced plans to expand Inland Port Greer — a pair of developments drawing praise from players in the manufacturing and logistics sectors. One Greer-based logistics company plans to double or triple the size of its personnel team; another hopes the port will draw more ships from Savannah to Charleston.

Restaurant Revitalization Fund registration launches Friday

The U.S. Small Business Administration will open registration for the $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund Friday and begin accepting applications at noon on May 3. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted, according to a news release.

Wastewater operator workshop hosted at University Center

Duncan-based Operators Unlimited will address some of the wastewater industry's recruitment and training challenges May 11-12 with a free continuing education course for operators at the University Center of Greenville.

Tree giveaway at Lake Conestee

In celebration of Arbor Day, Trees Upstate, Duke Energy and other partners will give more than 200 trees to the first visitors at Greenville's Lake Conestee Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Available native tree species include red maple, black tupelo, pignut hickory, bald cypress and five varieties of oak. The event, sponsored by the city of Greenville, is part of the city's tree canopy restoration initiative.
