The majority of Eagles fans were expecting the Eagles to select Justin Jefferson if he was still available. Sure enough, Jefferson fell to the Vikings at the 22 spot. The majority of Eagles fans were expecting the Eagles to select Justin Jefferson if he was still available. Sure enough, Jefferson fell to the Vikings at the 22 spot. The Eagles passed up on what would be one of the best Wr's in the NFL for Jalen Reagor. This of course shocked many Eagles fans as Reagor was barely even talked about. Eventually, Eagles fans made peace with the selection of Reagor, and some were even excited after seeing his college highlights at TCU. Reagor was a speedy receiver that could blow by defenders with ease, he looked as though he could be the next Desean Jackson. Looking back on it now, this obviously didn't pan out. Reagor started his rookie season with a 55-yard bomb from Carson Wentz. The future was looking bright and Eagles fans were excited. Shortly after, Jalen Reagor went down with an injury. This led to his stats not looking the most productive but Eagles fans hadn't given up on him yet. It wasn't until we were able to see him play again that we realized that he could very well be a huge bust. Meanwhile, we were seeing Justin Jefferson torch the league and have one of the best rookie seasons ever. In week 1 of the season, Reagor managed to get himself a touchdown early. 1 game 1 touchdown doesn't sound too shabby. Unfortunately, it has gotten progressively worse throughout the season. Over the last 7 weeks, Reagor has been in negative yards in 4 games. That's right, you have had more NFL receiving yards in 4 of the last 7 weeks than Jalen Reagor. That information alone is enough to tell you that he is a very bad receiver. While it is true that we may be a little hard on him for being only a second-year player, certain mistakes are inexcusable for a professional football player. 2 of these mistakes happened to happen on the last drive of the game against the Giants. I'm sure all Eagles fans know what 2 plays I'm talking about. The 2 game-winning touchdown drops. Jalen Hurts did miss a wide-open Devonta Smith on the last play of the drive but that's a whole other story. Getting back to Reagor, he described these drops as very "uncharacteristic". This is of course very ironic considering the majority of the Eagles fanbase already pictures him that way. After these horrible recent performances, Nick Sirianni is still saying that the Eagles are best with Reagor starting. This is understandable on some level, but at some point, you have to draw the line. This is a professional receiver who had the game in his hands TWICE and managed to lose it both times. While it may not be the best decision to bench him, the Eagles will need to replace him in the offseason. There is absolutely no reason that he should be on the team going into the 2022-23 NFL season after what we've seen in recent weeks. There would have to be some miracle turnaround in his career which is near impossible. So with that being said, I would formally like to say.. Goodbye Jalen Reagor!
